Hi
Pontius Pilate was a Scotsman!
Christians are a funny lot, when it comes to the belief of their invented god, Jesus, and the biblical personages that surround this mythical story. It is also funny that they can write all manner of stories about their supposed saviour. Yet, they cannot give a date for his existence, such as the date of his birth, date of his one-year missionary, or an exact date of his death, and the way it was ended which in itself is another invention. We will find that converts to Christianity, have a historical habit of being overzealous about their new-found religion, and are easily led to believe anything said. Let’s take the bible person of Pontius Pilate. Thanks to my friend Δεσμώτης, who gave me the impetus with his post on Judas, to write about Pontius Pilate.
There is a nation of certain cross-dressers whose diet consists of a horse fodder, who took to the baptism of the so-called Christ person after their colonization of the lands of another people to their east. The land known to then as Dál Riata or Dalriada. A Gaelic kingdom that encompassed the western seaboard of what is now Scotland and north-eastern parts of Hibernia/Ireland, on each side of the North Channel of what is the Irish Sea. It is from these amalgamated people who took to Christ like a duck to water, and for a millennium and a half have believed (and still do today), that Pontius Pilate was born in Scotland. Not only was he from Scotland, they know precisely the village, Fortingall, and date 20 BCE that Pilate was born. This is true for the people of Fortingall, I have personally been there, and could not leave faster enough, even trying to bribe the coach driver to drive-faster. The ludicrous story, and the people that tell it, have not taken history lessons seriously, as the term Scotland as we know it today, did not exist before the 10th-centiry CE. And the so-called birthdate (20 BCE) of the Roman prefect is lacking any evidence whatsoever, as a date, as nothing is known about Pilate’s birthplace or date. Although some historians have argued that the name Pontius is a Samnites name, a people living in Samnium, a region in South-Central Italy, which eventually assimilated with the rest of Italy. The date that the Scots give for Pilate 20 BCE, would make Pilate in his mid 50s if the crucifixion story was true, what do you say, on part or all of the discussion?
Cofion.
Yes, I am back, but I have to take it easy for a few months until my other (right) eye has had the operation, hopefully. I can see out of my left eye, which should get better in time, but have to start with 1/2 hour of computer a day to start with, then gradually build up. So please bear with me!
