Madrid, Göttingen – The exact circumstances of a single participant’s return home are obviously significantly more important than an international climate conference with around 26,000 participants from science, politics and civil society. This is the result of an evaluation of German media and social networks.
“After thirteen and a half days of tough negotiations between 200 countries about the fate of our planet, one must definitely discuss above all how a single 16-year-old participant of this conference goes home, what she goes home with and whether the content of her trip home on Twitter is correct and fully reproduced “, explains media researcher Horst Cadolzberg. “That is reasonable and appropriate to the situation.”
In the meantime, there have also been initial surveys on the priorities of the Germans in view of the impending climate catastrophe after the climate summit: According to this, 81 percent of citizens consider it their first duty to clarify whether Greta Thunberg is already in first class from Kassel or only from Göttingen occupied. 74 percent view it critically that Greta apparently received a chocolate bar from Deutsche Bahn with the imprint “Favorite guest”. 71 percent want the question to be investigated, where does all the luggage come from, next to which the climate activist can be seen. However, only 3 percent were able to name the result of the climate summit to a certain extent.
