A GRANDMOTHER is set to make profit this Christmas, after upping her annual charge for family members to eat dinner to £35 each.
Hayley Garbutt, from Filey, North Yorkshire, decided to make it a yearly tradition to charge her ever-growing family for their Christmas dinner, as she found herself catering for more and more people.
Yet by charging £35-a-head, she’s ensuring it’s not your standard Christmas meal, instead choosing to turn into an extravagant affair, with multiples choices of meat, cheeses and even alcohol – and uses the surplus to go all out.
This year she’s expecting to cater for 12 guests including her three children, their partners, her four grandchildren and even some of her friends.
Hayley has already received the £420 as she creates her lavish feast, but has only spent £300 – and she reckons it’s allowed to cater for everyone’s needs and means they can all indulge.
The end of life carer, 52, said, “I get all of my family to put in before I go and do the shop.
