North Korea’s threat of a “Christmas surprise” — though Dec. 25 ended without any report of a missile launch — underscored the importance of President Trump’s decision to create the U.S. Space Force.

It’s another promise kept by the president to strengthen, rebuild and modernize our military while staying focused on his most important job — keeping America safe.

It also illustrates forward-looking leadership by our commander-in-chief who understands the existential threats we face if any rogue nation or foreign enemy attacked critical satellites controlling our banking systems or executed an Electro-Magnetic Pulse strike knocking out America’s power grid — one of many national security threats we’re facing in this burgeoning frontier.
