Family of Jonathan Pentland moved from home after vandalism from protesters

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – The family of Johnathon Pentland, the man charged after he was caught on camera assaulting a black man in The Lakes at Barony Place subdivision, has been moved from their home due to protesters vandalizing the home, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were sent to the home around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday night, according to the department.

The department said the peaceful protests turned violent. 

Due to the criminal activity, deputies have closed access to Barony Place and surrounding street expect to residents, according to the department.

The family has been moved to an undisclosed location.
