James and Jennifer Crumbley have hired two high-powered attorneys, Shannon Smith and Mariell Lehman, to represent themselves even before they were charged in connection to the deadly shooting carried out by their son at Oxford High School in Michigan last week. Four students were killed and another seven people were injured.
Smith previously represented Larry Nassar, the former gymnastics Team USA doctor who was convicted of sexually abusing more than 250 victims over two decades.
Meanwhile, Ethan Crumbley was appointed an attorney by the court because he could not afford to hire his own attorney.
