Trump pays $110k fine in NY AG’s James case against company, must submit paperwork to end contempt

Former President Trump has paid the $110,000 in fines he accrued for being found in contempt of court for being slow to respond to a civil subpoena in New York, the state attorney general’s office that issued the subpoena said Friday.

Trump paid the fine Thursday but still must submit additional paperwork to have the contempt order lifted, according Attorney General Letitia James’ office.

Trump’s lawyer did not return a request Friday from the Associated Press seeking comment.

A Manhattan judge last month declared Trump in contempt and fined him $10,000 a day for not complying with the subpoena in James’ long-running investigation into his business practices, related to the valuation of the Trump Organization’s real property and its connect to loan application.
