Turns out the former first daughter had more of an interest in keeping her dad in power than she indicated to the January 6 committee.
Ivanka Trump sat down with January 6 investigators last April, she told them, as we heard from her taped testimony during the committee’s first public hearing, that she believed Attorney General Bill Barr when he said there was absolutely no evidence that the election had been stolen from Donald Trump, a.k.a. her dad. Barr’s declaration “affected my perspective,” she told the House panel. “I respect Attorney General Bill Barr. So I accepted what he was saying.” Given the attempt by the former first daughter and her husband, Jared Kushner, to rehabilitate their images post-violent-insurrection, Ivanka’s comments to the people investigating her father were not exactly surprising, if rage-inducing to Trump. Indeed, just one day before the January 6 committee kicked off its series of public hearings, The New York Times published an article in which anonymous sources familiar with the couple’s bedroom conversations noted that the duo totally knew Trump had lost the election—even before it was officially called for Joe Biden—and had “washed” their hands of the 45th president and his attempt to stay in power. The only problem? New video evidence showing Ivanka cheering on her dad’s plot as late as December 2020. Oops!
