Novel burkdl makes it possible for devout Muslim women to visit the Oktoberfest

Finally, devout Muslim women no longer have to do without beer, pork knuckle and hearty brass band music. Because a Munich fashion designer presented a creation today with the so-called Burkdl, a hybrid of burqa and dirndl, which allows the oriental and occidental world to merge in an appealing way.
The German-Arab fashion designer Schorsch Al-Amuli (29) explains his creation, which of course he had previously approved by an imam: “The burkdl guarantees its wearer a full veil, as required by the fundamentalist currents of Islam. Nobody can do that see the face of the Muslim woman and get lewd thoughts.”
At the same time, the garment imitates typical Bavarian folk costumes in terms of cut and design and enables its wearer to mingle with the people without any problems.
Test winner Asifa Masaad is enthusiastic: “In the Burkdl you can sway, eat knuckle of pork or veal sausage and drink four or five liters of beer. That used to be simply unthinkable for me!” The veil is only a little annoying on the so-called puke hill.
But Al-Amuli doesn’t just create clothes for Muslim women. The resourceful fashion designer is currently working on a caftan for male Muslims that ends in leather pants, as well as a prayer cap with a chamois beard.
