Science and history do not work well with the global flood. If we go by them, it didn’t occur.
At least two on these threads are fine with the flood being a local one. Large enough to seem world covering to the people back then, but not global. The usual explanation is the flooding of the Black Sea when the barrier between it and the Mediterranean eroded away. Nothing at all wrong with this.
Undersea archeology show settlements along the much lower Black Sea coastline. Science and archaeology can show there was a major flood long ago.
Now, if people use this as an explanation of the flood, how can they accept what the Bible says? By using this as evidence of the flood, are they not denying that God was pissed off at man, and decided to wipe out all life and start again? Are they not admitting that the whole story is something written by man and embellished over time?
By using such evidence / reasoning to prove a Bible story, are they not in fact, disproving the Bible?
