FORT SILL, Okla. – The Excellent Fires Center of Excellence announced Tuesday “Ok boomer” would be the school’s new motto.
“Every time I ask the young specialists to do something, they say, ‘OK, boomer,” said Maj. Gen. Wilson Shockner, commander of the field artillery school. “I get pumped up every time I hear it.”
“Boom Boom,” Shockner added.
The Field Artillery branch has been taking pride in things going boom since the first official planned, then canceled, fire mission in 1775.
“Saying ‘Ok Boomer,’ isn’t just a motto, it’s a way of thinking,” said Shockner to a crowd of AIT students. “Are you pumped for this new motto?”
“OK boomer,” the crowd responded, and then went back to texting.
